So, everyone knows that our beloved editor, Bethany, claims to be the ultimate summer-hater; greatly preferring scarves, boots, and cute coats to sweat, sunburns and hot dog overload. But while browsing for summer clothes on ModCloth.com the other night, I found myself repeatedly thinking: This is SO Bethany! No, THIS is so Bethany!

Maybe our resident Snow Queen has more sun in her soul than she’d like to admit… and she can’t argue with the fact the after all is said and done, you can buy 4 adorable summer frocks for the same price as one complete winter outfit with all the necessary accouterments. And when you’re living in the city where Ed Westwick (AKA Chuck Bass on the CW’s Gossip Girl) could be JUST around the corner at any given moment, you can’t own too many cute dresses! So I say, Summer is the season to SHOP for sweet, frothy confections of linen and silk–which is to say, wear your cake and eat your ice cream too. Mr. Bass, you’re going to want to be there when this STRONG girl walks down those burning Manhattan sidewalks…

Ok. I’m super sorry for hating on summer so much. Turns out, summer ain’t all that bad. While I’ve been out grilling dogs, drinking diet coke, kayaking and urban exploring in my fave city, NY!, I’ve been filling my closet with the best summer finds (with a little help of friends.)
